What is the Financial Freedom Calculator?

Financial freedom, as used here, is the simplest version of "enough": a corpus whose investment returns alone cover your monthly living expenses, so a salary becomes optional. It's a narrower question than the FIRE calculator's full retirement number (which factors in a safe withdrawal rate and a full retirement horizon) — this tool answers just "how big a corpus, earning what return, replaces my monthly expenses?"

How to Calculate

Enter your current monthly expenses and the annual return you expect your corpus to generate. The calculator annualises your expenses and divides by the return rate — a lower assumed return produces a larger required corpus, since it needs to work harder per rupee to replace the same income.

Formula

Corpus = Annual expenses ÷ Return rate
