Water Requirement Calculator
Find the volume of water needed to irrigate your field to a given depth, per irrigation and across the season.

What is the Water Requirement Calculator?
A crop's water requirement changes through its growth stages, and getting it wrong in either direction hurts yield — under-watering causes stress and poor development, while over-watering wastes a scarce resource, can leach nutrients from the soil, and increases the risk of root disease and fungal problems.
How to Calculate
Enter your field area in hectares, the water depth you want to apply per irrigation (in millimetres), and the number of irrigations planned. The calculator uses the standard conversion that one hectare irrigated to a depth of one millimetre requires 10 cubic metres of water, multiplying area × depth × 10 for each irrigation, then by the number of irrigations for your season total.
Formula
Volume (m³) = 10 × Area(ha) × Depth(mm)
