What is the Crop Insurance Calculator?

The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) is India's crop insurance scheme, enrolled through banks at the time of crop loan disbursement or directly through insurers, covering notified crops in notified areas against yield shortfall, prevented sowing, and post-harvest losses from specified perils. The government caps the farmer's premium share and subsidises the rest of the actuarial premium.

How to Calculate

Enter your sum insured and select your crop season. The farmer's premium share is capped at 2% for Kharif crops, 1.5% for Rabi crops, and 5% for commercial and horticultural crops — the calculator applies the relevant capped rate to your sum insured to show what you'd actually pay.

Formula

Premium = Sum insured × Season rate
