What is the Solar Savings Calculator?

Rooftop solar lets you generate part of your own electricity and, under India's net-metering policies in most states, feed surplus generation back to the grid for credit against your bill. Actual generation varies by season, local weather and how much shading your roof gets, so treat any projection as a reasonable estimate rather than a guaranteed figure.

How to Calculate

Enter your system's size in kW, the average peak sun hours your location receives per day (roughly 4–5 hours across most of India), and your electricity tariff. The calculator estimates monthly generation as size × sun hours × 30 days, then values that generation at your tariff to show the bill saving.

Formula

Saving = Size(kW) × Sun hours × 30 × Tariff
